This month the theme is “simple pleasures”.
My feet get cold easily, so socks are absolutely mandatory during the colder months. Nothing against socks as a concept, but I don’t love wearing them. As soon as it’s warm enough, I delight in going sockless. I’m not sure why, exactly. Perhaps I feel more grounded. I do like being able to pick things up with my toes, though there’s not usually much call for that particular talent.
As the weather turns cooler and the leaves fall, my simple pleasure is the last few days of going barefoot.
I think being able to take pleasure in the simple things is a tremendous skill.

Thank you. The low light made the image turn out quite golden. Ordinarily I’m not crazy about that effect because it doesn’t look that way to the naked eye, but I thought it looked appropriate here and complemented the warm tones in the different woods.

Thank you. The rug is actually a sheepskin that usually lives on the back of the couch. It’s lovely and soft and happens to feel quite luxurious under bare feet. Very tactile 🙂

Thanks. Indeed, I think noticing and enjoying those little things is a key element of sensuality.
I recently bought my first ever cashmere sweater (also very sensual) and found that it’s noticeably warmer than the cotton sweaters I usually wear. The upshot was that if I wear the cashmere, I’m warmer overall and can continue to go barefoot – win!

I rarely go barefoot for the same reason as you, I get way to cold but if we go on holiday to somewhere hot then it will be my default way to be.
